For the 2025-2026 school year, all incoming freshman (current 8th graders at Lynn Lucas and Brabham, Class of 2029) may try out for the Summer Prep Team. Tryouts for the Summer Prep Team will be conducted in April. 

Wildkat Baseball's 9th Grade Summer Prep Team is under the day to day operation and game direction of prearranged parent volunteers. There will be a player fee to cover the cost of the league entry, umpires, a hat, and jersey that the managing parents will oversee. The team will play double headers on week nights in June and are expected to participate in the High School Baseball Program's summer strength program and UIL sport specific practice time. Players are encouraged to continue to play with their summer teams throughout the coinciding season. 

Players who make the Summer Prep Team will be considered for the baseball athletic period if they finish the summer in good standing with the prep team and do not play any other sport. Players who do not make the freshman prep team may still be evaluated through summer strength program and UIL sport specific practice time. Students who cannot participate in Summer Prep tryouts need to contact Coach Washburn.

Summer 2025 Tryouts - Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 5:00 PM

Location: Wildkat Baseball Field

Please wear baseball attire and have molds or turf shoes (No Metal Spikes). 

Bring all equipment necessary to compete in the sport (Glove, bat, helmet, and catcher's gear if a catcher)
