2025 Willis Baseball Tryouts

The Willis Baseball Program will complete an extensive evaluation of each prospective player over the course of our tryouts. There will be 3 roster posts during the tryout process to continue to narrow down the roster. Each prospective player will be given a Tryout ID# which will be used to distinguish each athlete during each roster post.

Important Dates:

Prospective Player Parent Meeting 

• Date: Tuesday, January 14th, 2025

• Location: Willis High School LGI at 6:00PM

• All parents/guardians of prospective players are encouraged and should attend the meeting. 

Tryout Player Sign Ups

• Date: January 15th - 17th - Before School (7:00-7:30am) 

• Location: B324

• Prospective Players will need to go Coach Washburn's classroom (B324) before class starts to sign up for tryouts, verify their UIL Physical and Rank One clearance, and receive their Tryout ID#

  • Students must have a UIL Sport Physical on file with our training staff and have all Rank One pre-participation forms completed prior to January 17th or the student will not be allowed to participate in the tryout.

Tryout Dates:

• Friday, January 17, 2024 - 5:00PM-7:30PM - Measurables & Initial Evaluations

• Saturday, January 18, 2024 - 10:00AM-12:00PM - Tryout Scrimmage

  • • 1st Roster Post - Tryout ID#s will be posted below by 9:00PM. Numbers listed below will continue in the tryout.

• Monday, January 20, 2024 (MLK DAY) -10:00AM-12:00PM- Tryout Scrimmage

  • • 2nd Roster Post - Tryout ID#s will be posted below by 9:00PM. Numbers listed below will continue in the tryout.

• Tuesday, January 21, 2024 - 5:00PM-7:00PM - Final Tryout Evaluation

  • • Final Roster Post - Tryout ID#s will be posted below by 9:00PM. Program Roster is finalized. Parents of players who have made the team should plan to attend the Program Parent Meeting on Wednesday, January 22, 2024 at 6:00PM in the WHS LGI.
